An IT Degree is One of the Best Investments You Can Make in Your Future

Even though IT degrees have lost some of their former luster because of changes in the economy, they are still good degrees to get because they can open doors for you at so many different employers. Most big companies now have some kind of an IT department because of the business world’s reliance on e-mail, FTP sites, maintaining a company website, and so on. This is not going away, and in fact, e-business will become more and more ubiquitous in the future. That’s one reason why I think getting online computer IT degrees is a good move if you have the interest and the right personality for IT. Working in that field can be kind of lonely since you’re mostly just working with computer hardware and writing code. However, the advantages of getting an online college degree more than make up for whatever sacrifices you might have to make in the workplace, i.e., working alone much of time, working weekends and holidays when the computer system crashes and so on. You can even get into the IT field without getting a Bachelor’s Degree in an IT specialty. For instance, with online associate degrees and the right kinds of professional certification, you can land a great job with good benefits, especially if you can write code or have experience with the kinds of software your employer uses.
