My Neighbor

Our neighbor invited us over for dinner last Friday evening.  We had a great time enjoying a lovely bottle of Chianti with appetizers which were little olive oil and Italian seasoned crostinis with melted Havarti cheese, raspberry jam, and thin jalapeno slices.  Next we had roasted garlic on French bread, homemade marinara (no jar spaghetti sauce for this old-world family) and fresh spun angel hair pasta.  We ended with Marta’s secret tiramisu recipe.  Everything was absolutely delicious.

My neighbor’s son was home from college and so we started talking about expenses since my husband and I have two high school aged children.  Our neighbors told us about how they used a college planning services company to help them prepare to afford an education for their son.

Our neighbors strongly urged us to look into the average college costs people are facing these days.  It is daunting to look at the rising figures and to realize we have two children who will be at the University almost at the same time.  Marta advised that many people do not qualify for financial aid but there are other ways to cut down on the expenses and costs kids face in college.

Instead of going home and copying down recipes from the delicious meal we enjoyed, I jumped on the internet and began the research process to learn more.
