Green Degrees Are Increasingly Popular

One of the college degree areas that is growing rapidly right now is the area of green studies. All degrees that emphasize an eco-friendly approach to an area of study are popular because of the increasing attention to green issues by businesses (including those businesses that may be hiring when students graduate).
The most common green degree is the environmental science degree but this is no longer the only green degree available to students. Many schools are starting to offer specialized green degrees to students who want to truly focus their studies on today’s green issues. For example, Yale launched a program a few years back for students interested in getting a sustainable design degree. Other schools have followed suit with related programs in green design and green technology.
You don’t have to go through a complete college program to get a green education, though. Sometimes people simply get simple certifications in green topics. LEEDS is a good example of this. People get leed training in order to get certified in aspects of green building and design. This doesn’t require the individual to get a green degree but instead is a way to supplement an existing degree with a modern eco-friendly education.

Green design is one of the hottest fields in building right now, so I think this blog post is correct in every way.
My gut feeling is that green design is here to stay, so we all might as well get on board, whether we’re tree-hugger types or not.
Today the whole world is facing a common problem, i.e. Global Warming. So, it is a very nice initiation that green degrees are becoming more and more popular these days.
